Hi everyone,
i have a written test for an analog company coming up for an entry level position. I want to find out which is a gud book for RLC circuits. Also i want to know to what level i should read analog design,is it sufficient if i read basic device physics, amplifier basics, opamps, feedback or do i need to read anything extra.also to what extent should i read digital concepts. Further i would like to know what kind of questions can be expected of in the interview. Will they ask only basic RLC stuff or more of MOSFEts,also will questions be asked on my projects. please throw some lighjt on the above questions & on the process in general.

Re: Analog interview

thanks a lot but i am doin just that ,reading Razavi. i was more worried about the questions on RLC, any books for tat?

Re: Analog interview

post the questions, may be you'll get some answers.

Re: Analog interview

for analog engineer interview, you can do some problems behind every chapter of razavi book and will do well for your interview.

Analog interview

usually for the entry level, the basic knowledge is more important.

reading the textbook will help.

for RLC, maybe you need to read "electronics"

Re: Analog interview

Thanks a lot for all the advice , i have been solving the problems at the back of razavi. In one particular analog company test earlier i had problems solving a particular problem which was again asked in the interview & led to me not getting the job. I remember the problem roughly: it was a huge RLC network & we had to find Vout at S=0 & S=inf. My answer for s=0 was right(i shorted the L's & opened the C's) but my answer for S=inf was wrong(shorted C's & opened L). Any advice on how to approach such problems is most welcome.

Re: Analog interview

Usually at w=0 and w=infinity the analysis is easy. The interesting thing is what happens in-between and with RLC circuits many things can happen. That's why I suggested before that you post a concrete circuit so you can get concrete answers and discussion.

Re: Analog interview

Here is Pro Ali M. Niknejad's book chapter on RLC circuit for high speed communication .May this will help you.

Re: Analog interview

Frankly, i don't remember the circuit but it was a big one with lots of L's & C's (we were supposed to return the question paper back).Even i thought it would be easy to solve the circ @ w=0 & w=inf. But at w=inf there were lots of caps in series & parallel & a couple of resistors(l's were open),hence Vout was shrted to gnd through many paths but the answer wasn't gnd. Sry but i don't have any schematics

Added after 4 minutes:

Hey Freelancer thnx for tat chapter fronm the book, i shall go thru it,looks gud.
