What does ULN stand for in ULN2003?

does anyone know what ULN stands for in ULN2003 (Darlington transistor array)?

AFAIR "Universal Linear" as opposed to UDN "Universal Digital". The "N" is for the temperature range -20°C ... 85°C , s. clip from SPRAGUE (TM) datasheet below:

ULN is normal line driver or just buffer. We have to use chip enable signal for getting output.
