hi there

im new to FPGA and VHDL and i wonder if someone can help me with it

im using spartan 3 starter kit UG130
i want to use 2x20 LCD and im not sure which pins should i choose

more over i wanted to ask you how to design UCF

and how is the VHDL design

for pinout connection just refer to user manual provided with kit

Alos make sure when you are picking your LCD it is 3.V type of display, because most of them are 5V and might not work

Make sure you set up IO voltage correctly dor your FPGA

also make sure the is 3.3V buffer from FPGA to LCD connector or VCC IO for those pins is 3.3V

yup this file and if anyone has an example of using this LCD can i take a look at it

i think im gonna change the LCD to 2 x16

and 11 pins gonna be connected to the FPGA and the 3 to an external power supply as shown in the link **broken link removed**

but the thing will i need a pull up resistor for this type of screen

and can u help me to choose the 11 pins that i should connect it to
