loss tangent conductivity

Hi All,

Anyone has idea on how to convert conductivity to loss tangent or vice versa?? For a si wafer, with conductivity 8S/m, what is the loss tangent at 10GHz??

conductivity loss tangent

Some definitions:

e_c = e' - je'' - complex permittivity
tan_d = e''/e' - loss tangent
s = omega*e'' - conducativity (alternating)

From the above equations:

s = tan_d*omega*e'
where,

omega: frequency of use
e': real part of complex permittivity

Hope this helps.

enjoy!
