drc rules for routing

Hi all,
I'm planning to start the DRC, routing and LVS of a analog designed circuit. I have no experience in this field. What are the things to consider ?
What do you advise me in order to obtain a nice Layout apart of course the patience ?
Thanks in advance.

DRC, routing and LVS

hi

According to me try to do soem physical verification using gui for very small designs and then on u can carry on for bigger design .. So once ur comfortable with gui and that u have learned enough with . Shift to scripts.

DRC, routing and LVS

Do a layout for a inverter initially and try to understand all the DRC rules

Re: DRC, routing and LVS

try to look at the design rules before you start
just to get an idea
and make DRC after each part you do in the layout
just to make sure you're on the right track

try to get familiar with the tool before you start
if you have never used it before
just do a layout for an inverter or a nand for instance
know the hot keys for the normal tasks, copy, move, stretch...etc

which tool are you using..?
if you have any trouble please tell me to help in any way i can :)

DRC, routing and LVS

Thaks you all,
I'm Using a Cadence platform Virtuoso, edlo...

Re: DRC, routing and LVS

Not sure why you labeled the topic the way you did but I strongly recommend doing DRC after routing.

Re: DRC, routing and LVS

dear master_picengineer,

You are mentioning to check DRC/LVS for Analog circuit,
There are few things only common to Digital and Analog Checks,

For more details you need talk to Analog designers.
This is a Digital design forum, Pls rise the question in Analog section.
