vga monitor instead of oscilloscope?

oscilloscope vga

I hv one equipment having output to connect XYZ oscilloscope to it. I wish to use vga monitor instead of oscilloscope.
Is it possible?
If yes, then how to do it?
I hv seen one article of converting VGA to scope.

Mine is exactly opposite.
 

simple vga oscilloscope

you have to use triangular to square wave converter for x,y .
and for Z you can use resistor network for this .

i have not exact schematic for it .

but , for my point of view it is possible !

What is the bandwidth of your XYZ signals?

Converting from vector format to raster scan format is a rather complex operation. Some digital oscilloscopes have XYZ inputs and a VGA monitor output. Use one of them, and you won't need to build anything.
 

vga to oscilloscope converter

The VGA has built in circuitry to make it scan the electron beam down the tube line by line. And circuitry to do a vertical retrace when it hits the bottom and all kinds of other sync signals. You would have to bypass all of that and hook up to the beam controller circuitry directly. And you will need a really good scope to do this. But you don't have one because you are trying to build one. Sigh.
