Hello all ..

Im designing hardware of PHY layer of Wi-Fi (transmitter part only) and after going through the standard and related hardware I still hav some queries un-answered .

My first problem deals with the input and output ports of the PHY layer i.e. if i want to represent my whole hardware design in a BLACK BOX form .. what will be the actual pins i hav to deal with for interfacing with MAC and frontend RF module ?

My 2nd problem deals with the service primitives .. i hav studied that the transmission cycle start with the issuance of TXSTART.req from MAC to PHY and then the transmission of preamble and header follows and so on ... that request has parameters like powerlevel, rate, octets in MPDU etc .... in which format that parameters are transferred ? e.g. if MAC wants to tell PHY that there are 100 octets in MPDU which needs to be transffered at 6Mbps and at a certain power level then how that message will be transffered( any particular coding for that)? i am not getting answer of that question any where in the standard ..

Thank you in anticipation and waiting for a reply frm a techie ..
Regards
