is USB interfacing posible....?

plz share some material on this...

usb+interfacing

what you mean "is possible?" of course it is, wasn't that possible had we USB devices!
what is your device that you want to interface it with USB, do you have MCU/FPGA/UART or RS232/485 or fieldbus/PLC or ethernet or what? what is the speed, do you need bulk, isochronous or interrupt,....

USB interfacing

I was just asking how it is posible...
i dont know any thing about it....

lyke before parallel port interfacing u need to know some pin configuration some programming command...etc...

so ho w usb port can be done....
i search google but can't find any useful material....

i hope u understand

Re: USB interfacing

hi,

Are you asking how to send data to USB port from PC or you want to receive data from devices connected to PC?

please be clear

Re: USB interfacing

MSRA listen, USB bus is a very complex bus not even comparable with RS232 or parallel port. If you don't even master in parallel and serial RS232 ports. you need to master them before anything else. If you know parallel and RS232 well enough and you want to learn USB go to www.beyondlogic.org and download USB in a nutshell and read it twice(at least). you can also find plenty of information about RS232 and parallel ports there.
Best,

Re: USB interfacing

Hi,

First of all you tell you are going to implement USB host or USB device. If you are implementing USB device you can use MAX3420E (USB Peripheral Controller with SPI Interface). There are many RS232 to USB converters also available. For USB host the ISP1161 can be used. Or you can find micro controllers with inbuilt USB Devce/ Host/ OTG

Re: USB interfacing

I find the basic understanding of RS232 interface is very important.
If you have already know RS232, you might like to try FT232 IC chip.
FT232 converts RS232 to USB.

USB is more complex than RS232.
However, the development work for USB is not too difficult,
because there are many examples & ready solutions around.

For me, I prefer using USB microcontroller from microchip, 18F4550 for example.
There are plenty of examples around.
Writing code from scratch takes a much longer time.
