diode in bandgap

hi all!

is it important for diode in bandgap with 8:1 ratio for common centroid to have dummy surround it? for resistor of course we put dummy. How about diode?

Usually I use bipolar transistors as diodes without dummy elements.

diode in bandgap

about the matching, dummy element there are a lot of tricks and myths. but many people say many times they are not so useful, anyway if I have to make layout I ususally use them (maybe don't help, but it is not adverse, but I guess the truth is not so many difference with or without dummy cell).

Re: diode in bandgap

usually i use it to match the 1:8 bipolar(around them) transistor, but it takes some area indeed,
