Error Correcting Capability of Turbo codes???

Can u pl tell what is the error correcting and error detection capability of turbo codes...???

hi,
As far as i know there is nothing like error detection capabilities of Turbo codes.
Convolutional codes which includes turbo codes fall under error correction codes as compared to Cyclic redundancy Check (CRC) which falls under error detection codes.
the basic difference is self- explainatory.
Error detection codes detect the presence of error in the transmitted information block.
Whereas an Error correction codes which works on a Markov chain principle, works on probability and corrects the Errors if any.
