Hi,

I am using cadence tool for my project. I have a problem.

Suppose i hava a inverter schematic of size wp=1.44um and wn=0.72um and i have created a symbol for it. i am using this symbol in my schenatic to complete my timing. Now i need a inverter of a different size say wp=2um and wn =1um to get a different drive strength.

If i change the size of the inverter in its schematic all the symbols which refer to it change. but i want only certain specific inverters in my schematic to change and the other. is there any way that i can do this.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Cadence Tool Help

AFAIK you would have to create a new symbol with different drive strength or you could replace those symbols which you want to be different with the actual schematic of the inverter and then change the width in those schematics.
