hi all

WHATE IMEAN OF

(hamming codes, convolutional encoder and viterbi decoder )

thanks

Re: hamming codes

Hafman code is used for source coding and the purpose of it compress the data.
then the symbol with more probability of use, give shorter length and symbol with lower probability get longer length.

convolutional code use as a channel code. with this code with use of redundancy the error are detectable and correctable. this so with the cost of add redundancy and decrease the performance.

viterbi also is used for decoding the convolutional code.

these subjects are two course in university and you should refer to coding book. use search and find more.

Re: hamming codes

thankx,

but how i can get info about this coding

Re: hamming codes

you can refer to this book:

Error Control Coding, Second Edition
by Shu Lin, Daniel J. Costello

also you can search in Eda board to find more.

it first reply be benefit don't forget click "help me"!!!

Hamming codes are not used for data compression. They are also a class of error correcting codes!

Re: hamming codes

Hi Toshine and thanks;

I mistake. I Thought "Haif" question was about "Hafman code" instead of "Hamming code".

The hamming code is error correction code. I attach a chapter about hamming code. Thanks again.
