(Assuming constant current=temp independent current), It depends on what one is looking for. Lot of times constant gm biasing is used because gm is more critical compared to the actual bias current.
sure it will depend on ur application , if u need temp compensation , then sure u will need PTAT , if not u can use constant current or constant GM bias network
