Thread: what's difference between USB2.0 and USB1.1 ?

I always confused about this.

certainly speed ,Intel are going to research USB3.0 with faster 10 times with USB2.0 ,about next year

I mean the difference from designer aspect. For example, what the clock in usb2.0 and usb1.1, how about phy in usb2.0 and usb1.1. what about transfer protocal in usb2.0 and usb1.1.

The obvious diffrence is in speed usb2 480 Mb/sec. But about the protocols you can read usb1 and usb2 specs. Also there are many books on USB that you can find in ebook section.

the phy for 2.0 is very complex than 1.1, 1.1 phy is only two buffers. and the protocol is very different.

PHY is the bigest diffrence
