Information on Ubicom IP2022 wireless network processors

I'm trying to track down anything or anyone that is interested in working on UBICOM IP2022 wireless network processors. This is the controller used in Linksys WETxxx and Senao APx and CBx access points/client bridges. I'm interested in making custom (read: functional and enhanced) upgrades targeted for these hardware platforms. Unfortunately the dev kit costs $9900 more than my budget allows.

If anyone can point me to any information or software for these processors above and beyond what is available from UBICOM's site, I would appreciate it. I will share what I find with the list.

Thank you for the reply and the link. I've gone through it and took from it what I could.

Some other questions for the group:

1. Is the ISP/SPI interface on the IP2022 a JTAG equivalent?

2. Can you use tools for the Ubicom SX uC/uP families to interface and program to this device?

3. Anyone have the utility ip2kprog? I only really need this one tool.


If people are interested I've collected a ton of information on this controller and will upload if people are interested.

I've noticed discussions of development kits for the IP2022 chip around $3000 USD which is still outside of my wallet. There was talk of a $125 - $150 dev board that was the chip only with a space to add devices.

Yes, for programming and debugging, not for boundary scan.

Not, IP2K nead different tools .... :(

It's version 3.1.1, a little bit older. But maybe works for you.

Can you specified what is the part number of CON10A ??

Hmmm, it should be easy. Looking at the schematics diagram, the CON10A plug goes straight to JP 8, JP9
On BOM file, these are CON5x2M Male, Dual-Row, Tin finish .100TH, Digikey part number S2012-05-ND.
If you can find a female plug at Digikey, that's all you need, but if you don't have the development board for a perfect match, I believe you can choose whatever plug you like.
In attachement it's an excerpt from the schematic board, which emphasizes the ISP drawing area.

Thank you so very much. That was exactly what I was looking for! I will build interface tomorrow. The Senao AP3 designers were kind enough to leave the through-hole pads for the ISP port on the board. I soldered a 10-pin connector on it and verified the connections to the IP2022.

The rar package you sent was missing the DLPORTIO.dll. I hunted it down and have attached it to this post for other experimentors.

hello,

i have a "dev" board with a ubicom ip2022 ,wireless card,usb ....etc isp interface....but no programming tools compilers debugers for it . i have the ip2kprog only....

is the sdk UNITY ide free or avilable ? can i download it from somewhere ?

can i use gcc only ? do i need other tools ? gnupro ?

I look for Ipwireless module found in advanced wireless kit.
Can you help me?

hi sorry by my poor english . I ´m have a senao too , and i look the ip2kprog in the guerrilla.net page, I make the connector and cable but the error cannot connect isp/isd already persist for me. can help me

ok. Entonces en español, Tengo un senao version 1 (asi sale en la placa) cuando lo flashee con el tftp y el .bin de guerrilla.net dejo de andar el servidor tftp. Tambien baje una aplicacion para programar in system (isp/isd) y modifique el conector del senao instalando un conector de 10 pines + fuente de 3,3v pero no funciona el programador (ip2kprog.exe). Tengo algunas pdf y librerias si alguien necesita.
ALguna ayuda

I have make a JTAG for IP-2022 and have problem not connected.!the programmer,i have load also DLPORTIE.dll/// To connect to SENAO 2611CB3 DELUXE AP/BRIDGE . I am using the internal XTAL 4.0 MHZ and with powering the device from its normal power intput like unit working in normal condition(is that OK ?) or must apply separate power +3v to IP-2022 ? any one can help

This ones are for upload by ethernet but i have no one to upload via paralel port....

Hola jerc2004 necesito algo de ayuda tengo un aparato teletronics ezbridge usa el ip2022 tenia un flash karlnet y puse uno original de teletronics pero ahora prende con los leds intermitentes y ya no lo detecto en le red necesito reprogramar el ip2022 por fuera cualquier ayuda que puedas darme me seria de gran ayuda de antemano grasias.
