dear all
We should layout a vco. the frequence is 1M.
While layouting the vco. what sides should we take care?
The signal path, or power path, and any others.

VCO layout

In my option
the signal path shoud be taken care, for ring oscillators, the signal of each delay cell shoud match or be identical.
and the VCO shoud be put in a noiseless region.
The power path should be wide enouth for enouch current supplying and small voltage drop on small resistance.

Re: VCO layout

Topology symmetry, Large current Metal width, Cap and MOSFET put, Noise isolation.

VCO layout

i think you should take care the match of the inverter chain

VCO layout

Thanks

Re: VCO layout

usually,it is common to surround the VCO cells with a wide ring of decoupling capacitors, which can reduce the power supply ripple and also have better noise isolation.
