thanx

ie3d shorting pin

Hi,

Add vertices where u want to short .select those vertices and with the help of Adv edit-> Buid via connecting edges or in case buid via through selected polygons u can able short it.

Hi balaguru thavamani,

Thanks for your reply...
Before, I done the shorting of patch antenna by using the "Conical via"...
Is it the same (I mean in the results)?
And for the diameter of shorting pin actually how much it is (which also used in practical)?

Regards

Hi,

Normally in Printed Antennas circular via (PTH) will be used.

and in case of dia it depends up on the frequency of operation and size of the

antenna.

Hi:

If you are building ribbon vias between edges on 2 different layers, you can use Adv Edit->Build Via Connection... If you want to build solid vias, you can use ENTITY->CONICAL VIA. You can also build the shape of the via as a polygon on a layer. Then, you select it and use Adv Edit->Build Holes and Vias from Selected Polygons. If they shape are the same, they should yield the same results.

best regards,
