Re: what is vx-works

Hi dude ..... How r u ?

The question is really a good one ......

Tornedo C is the platform where you can make your own application programms

whereas Vxworks is nothing but the RTOS for your Sytem , where you can implement your own application programs using tornado C and can place that to your Target (SBC).

Re: what is vx-works

VxWORKS is an real time operating system. All real time operating systems are application specific.because no mode switching,so no delay, determenestic, predictable.

Re: what is vx-works

Tornado is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and VxWorks is the RTOS.

VxWorks is a Cross-Complier Platform. We compile the kernel along with application in a Windows/Solaris System.

By the way, Tornado is a almost Obselete IDE which was for VxWorks 5.5.

The latest IDE is called "Workbench" and the VxWorks release is 6.x.

Cheers,

Kiran

Re: what is vx-works

Vx-works is a real-time OS which is used in many real-time and critical applications. For example this OS has been used on satellites as a top OS.
