fire and ice cdence

Dear All,

I need to run fire and ice extraction tool to do RC extraction. I am currently very new in this software.
Can anyone help me on how to do this extraction and can i get sample of tech file extraction of fire and ice. Thanks a lot.

Siva

what is fire and ice extraction? i am a student of ee. can anyone help me on this question?

hi,

Fire and ice is an 3d rc extraction tool. The rc extraction is more detail compare to normal extraction.

Hi Siva,

Fire and ice is a 3D extractor from cadence. In order to use Fire and Ice, you need a tech file in .tch format, normally provided by foundry.
in case, the foundry hasn't given a .tch file, we can generate one using the ICT technolgy file using a utility called RCgen which is i guess is provided by cadence in their SoC suite.

Other inputs include a library view of your design (.cl file), DEF file and layer map.

You can use Fire and Ice to model various other process parameters during the extraction process.

I hope this helps.

regards
