hi,

has anyone knows what's best microcontroller to be used in alarm clock system???/ pls consider the cost of that microcontroller nd availability in d market....its 4 my undergrad thesis,......Can i program it on C langauge??

hi

I prefer at89s2051

look at the atmel website for datasheet

the main advantages are you can drive 7segments displays directly
low pin count, low cost & easily available.

ok..... but how at89s2051 more advantage than hte PIC family???

Go with what is familiar to you. Anything that can used a timed interrupt and has enough I/O will do it.

I will suggest you to use atmel 2051 as it is easy for you, for clock chip you better use philips one with serial communiction. for display you can use 7 segmet or lcd. better if you write in Assembly.

regards

hi

i think PIC controller is better choice than atmel u can use c-compiler to program it or PIC basic compiler which is easier to use and have more functions
