does antenna increase the distance of transmission or send wave only??

Re: antenna and distance

Technically spoken, the antenna is nothing else but the transition between transmission channels. Typically this would be from coaxial to free air. This transition of course also has it's characteristics and delay profile. I think you could model this using 3D modeling software.

Any people with more experience on this subject?

Re: antenna and distance

Antennas have a significant effect on how far one can send a signal. I would recommend looking up the meaning of gain, beamwidth, field of view, bandwidth as a start.

Basically the bigger an antenna the stronger the received signal and the more narrow the field of view.

Re: antenna and distance

And the good books to start is Antennas For All Applications by John D. Kraus and Ronald J. Marhefka.

Goodluck...

antenna and distance

Can i have the link to this book

Re: antenna and distance

antena type and its imepednce effects the range and performance vary much

this impedance usually known as characteristics impedance effects in the communication

when this impedence of wire, device and antena are matched then maximum results are achieved.

also the type of antena and wire change this impedence so antena type and wire type also effects the communication
