Can anyone give me the clear idea of early voltage

Re: Early voltage

The Early effect is the variation in the width of the base in a BJT due to a variation in the applied collector voltage.

the variation in the collector current in the active region due to this effect is called as early voltage.......

Re: Early voltage

λ=1/Va

Va -> Early voltage, due to Early effect

Id=B/2(Vgs-Vt)²*(1-λVds)
Early voltage effects only on saturation current at MOSFET...
As you know Vds does not effect on Id in saturation, well in real MOSFETs it does, and it is represented with Early effect.

Refer Sedra/smith book page no:399(5 th edition ) for early effect..

Re: Early voltage

dependence of collector current on the collector emitter voltage.
that is the output resistance is finite.
so when the slope of ic vs vce is extrapolated it cuts at va- the early voltage.
