waht is difference between 8 bits and 64 bits microprocessors

This is the size of the array that a microprocessor can work out for any arithmetic or logic proecedure, usually when it's processing tasks (through instructions).

Hi

It's the width of the data bus
and it may give you more reach Instruction set.
more powerful peripherals ......

My old amiga (and the first Macs) used mc68000 micros with a 16 bit data bus, 32 bit registers and a 24 bit address bus so you could say it was a 16/24/32 bit system. The 68020 could be used to create a full 32 bit system since it's address bus and data bus could handle 32 bits. Where graphics is key like in video game systems the bandwidth of the graphics data bus is key so that is what they will advertise. Then there is the bus io. The ISA was 8 bit, then 16 bit, then PCI came along with a full 32 bit interface. So it all depends on what you are talking about. Usually the system is no faster than the component whose bandwidth is a bottleneck. If you have a full 64 bit micro running in the ghz and you are running a PCI card running in the hundreds of MHZ you have a bottleneck. Or interfacing to an electromechanical harddrive or to an internet connection running in the KHz.
