what is the main differences B/W microcontroller and microprocessor
in detail

diff b/w microprocessor microcontroller

Answer: See section 1.2.1 to 1.3.3 for what a microprocessor is. Section 1.4 indicates what a microcontroller is. Essentially, a microcontroller is obtained by integrating the key components of microprocessor,RAM, ROM, and Digital I/O onto the same chip die. Modern microcontrollers also contain a wealth of other modules such as Serial I/O, Timers, and Analogue to Digital Converters. There are a large number of specialised devices with additional modules for specific needs. eg. CAN controllers, Serial Peripheral drivers.

microprocessor is just brain .it required external helpers like timers , ports , ram code memory etc

a micro controller includes all in single chip

difference b w microprocessor and microcontroller

the main difference between microcontroller and microprocessors are:microcontroller is able to control a variety of processes and devices independently or by means of I/O instruments such as switches ,buttons, sensors microcontrollers are cheap writing program in microcontroller does not requires any previous schooling microcontrollers are same in many ways and share alot in common between them so that it is easy to handle all microcontrollers after being master of one

in my view dear the man difference is ..we can say microcontroller is embeded system but we cant say microprocessor is embeded system .
because
1. microprocessor does not have memory(code r data )
2.microprocessor does not have perpherial devices (timer ,serial ports etc )
3.microprocessor reqiure clock circuitry for clocking purpose but microcontroller does not
