Hi
I design a PA with SiGE transistors. Is there any way to find out if a ballast resistor is requiired? If yes then how do we calculate the proper value of it

Thanks

Not sure how to determine whether they're needed or not, but typically ballast resistors should be sized such that the voltage drop is on the order of several thermal voltages.

what is the justification for the choice of several thermal voltages?
