pc based oscilloscope

hi
i am new to electronics and am intersted in robotics
i find frm the little xperience that an oscilloscope is an inevitable tool
so please hlp me by giving the circuit diagram of a good pc based oscilloscope
i dont want to use sound card ones because
1. i tried one and didnot get the required o/p
2. there is danger of burning the motherboard

sound card have disadvantage:
it can not measure DC signal,only measure AC signal.if you want to measure dc signal wave,you need to short input capcitor in you sound card.
you need use zener diode and resistor to protect the sound card.
