pmos saturation

we know for nmos works in active region, we must have Vgs-Vth>0 and Vds>Vgs-Vth.

But how about pmos? I am very confused.

Thanks

pmos saturation condition

you can take the modulus of them i'e

| Vgs|-|Vth|>0

|Vds|>|Vgs|-|Vth|.

or easily reverse the sign

pmos transistor

for pmos saturation vds<vgs-vt

u follow the following book

micro electronics by sedra & smith

pmos in saturation

Should be two PN junction?

saturation condition for pmos

you can understand this by two ways:-

1> write down these eqas. for nmos then use mod for all expressions and put the values with signs i.e.+ or - for pmos like Vt for nmos is + but for pmos its negative.
so by doin this u will get the right expression.

2> second way to understand is just write down the equs. for nmos and reverse the sign of > and <. then put the different values of pmos with the signs i.e. Vt shd be negative etc.
so by this way u can also understand these equs for pmos.
