computer networks

can any one explain me what are the motivations of computer networks?

Re: computer networks

What do you mean by motivations of Computer networks ?

Re: computer networks

The purpose of computer network is to transfer data stored in a computer to another.

computer networks

communication between two computers sitting at remote location or on the same campus..

computer networks

In this era, computer which has no network connection is almost useless. The trend is becoming computer needs network. Even application also going to be shared through network.

computer networks

interconnectivity of PCs

Computer Networking

Computer Networking is the process of interconnecting two or more local or remote computers to exchange data between them .

it may be of three types - LAN MAN WAN
LAN Local Area Network
MAN Metropolitan Area Network
WAN Wide Area Network

LAN is Allowed to connect local computers of small area (eg Hotels , villages)
MAN is Allowed to connect computers of two or more LANs (eg City , town)
WAN is Allowed to connect computers of two or more LANs and MANs (eg State)

LAN has higher data transfer rate between two end computers
MAN has medium data transfer rate between two end computers of two different LANs
WAN has slowest data transfer rate between two end computers of two different
MANs.

Re: computer networks

the main motivation for computer networks is sharing of resources and data(sometimes)

also a standalone computer is really powerless

where a networked computer is an absolute powerful machine

also computer networks have added fuel to the growth of all network equipment manufacturing companies , which in turn has also revolutionised the the electronics industry as companies as under competition to manufacture latest and cheap equipment in the shortest amt of time there by accelerating investment in R&D of such products

thankyou very much to all

Re: computer networks
