any one know ic called 3170 ???

Nobody can help with such short info.

In case you have that part on your hand, that I guess your case, so give more info on its package, number of pins, any other signs or logo on its package, so maybe you will get help.

If you see it on any diagram, just let people know its figure and connections with related parts.

Hello,
This is a DTMF decoder IC similar to the CMD8870 and the HT9170 IC but is pretty old and outdated. They are now available in scrap. Better not to use them in any new design.

Did you take it from a cordless phone??

For mi this is a DTMF receiver, very used in DELOS and MURATA phones. The copmplete IC code is MT3170B.

I upload tw datasheets, one from Zarlink Semiconductor and the other one is from Mitel Semiconductor.
