Hi! I have a problem with some stepping motors. I haven´t any tecnical information about them, the few things I know are:
- Company: Chang Shing Electric
- Coil (Ω): 10
- Phase: 4
- Deg: 15 (I suppose are the degrees 15º)
- 6 wires (A B C D E F)
- Resistance between cables:
(A-E) or (A-F): 16Ω
(A-B) or (A-C) or (A-D): 32Ω
(B-C) or (B-D): 32Ω
(B-E) or (B-F): 16Ω
(C-D): 32Ω
(C-E) or (C-F): 16Ω
(E-F): 0Ω

So, how can I drive them? I soppose it is a PM, 4 phase, unipolar stepping motor but don´t know if I´m correct and I´m searching the datasheet of them to know how exactly work with them.
Last question, do you know any driver for this kinf of motor, a part of the L297 and L298 series?
Thank you very much.

hi,

you can make a HBRIDGE or BUY IT

i hope this helps and also search google

there is also alot of tobics about steppers and H Bridges
in EDAboard search.......

thanks

Hi AlexNadal,

It' a unipolar stepper motor.
The first thing you have to do is determine the coil voltage.
You can do that by building the special universal sophisticated
stepper motor driver and test it. Start with 5 volts and see if
the motor makes a step if you change the setting of one of the
switches.
The second step is to determine which coils form a pair.
You can check this by changing the settings of the switches in
turn, left switch, right switch, left switch, right switch and
so on. Every time you change the setting of one switch, the motor
has to advance one step in the same direction. If this isn't the
case, interchange one coil from the left switch with one of the
right switch. If it still doesn't move in the same direction,
put one of the coils back where it was and take the other coil
of that switch to replace it on the other switch. Now you've got
two pairs, each connected to a switch, mark them. Next step is
to measure the coil current and see which stepper motor driver
you can use.
