distance measuring using microwave

I want to measure the distance between the entry of a tube and an object in the tube with the use of radar, but i didnt have any experience and indeed i do not know if it is practical, i try to explain my goal in the picture below:
the radar transmitter and reciever are placed in the entry of the tube and the object is in the tube and can move right and left the diameter of the tube is about 6cm and the length is about 6-7 meter, and also I didnt want to use ultrasonic sensor!!!
is there any radar module that can be used in this project?

distance measuring using radar sensor

You will need to use a microwave frequency so that the tube acts as a waveguide
5GHz+
