text mode vs pdu mode

HI,

When i go across AT commands i have a doubt regarding difference Text mode and PDU mode.Help me please..
 

text mode to pdu mode

There are 2 kind of SMS message format, the first is old PDU mode message format, the second message format is ASCII text format.

test your cell phone with
AT+CMGF=?
if answer is (0,1) for cell phone support text format

then sent
AT+CMGF=1
after that your cell phone use ASCII text to send/receive SMS!
