how to install strain gauge

Hello,
anybody have technical reference on strain gauge installation to measure weight?
i'd like to bond it to a solid metal plate made from stainless steel

I wouldn't attach strain gauge to a plate ..
Much better approach, as far as sensitivity is concerned, would be to position a plate on 4 legs (square or round cross-section) made of 416 hight tensile stainless steel and attach strain gauges to each leg ..
Having 4 of them you can construct a bridge - the rest is just basic electronics - instrumentation amplifier, A/D, or whatever you need to display weight ..

Regards,

i've read it, got some enlightment :D
