1.How the router port is associated with input queue and output queue?

2.How many ports are in the router?

3.What are parameters used in the input queue and output queue?

Re: Related to router

well , ant router must have at least one thernet interface , because it is the default gateway of the LAN , and at least one Serial/WAN interface , there are routers that contain many eth. , Ser. interfaces to connect many LAN's and many WAN's toogeather.

Concerning Queuing , there are many algorithms for queing like : LLQ , WFQ , .....
they are invoked through commands on each interface but they are most implemented on Serial/WAN interfaces because they have low bitrate comparing to the Ethernt interfaces (10/100/1000 Mbps) , and this issue is a very important part of what is called Quality of Service (QoS) policy .

If you want to know more about this topic and how it is implemented :

I hope this answers your request
