parallel plate waveguide hfss

Hi,

I am trying to simulate an infinite pec metal in HFSS. I used master/slave boundary to make the metal infinite and used pml boundary condiiton. I tried both the PEC boundary condition and a metal box(very thin) in simulation but neither give me right results. Can anybody help me with this please?

Also, have anybody tried to get the light line in dispersion diagram using HFSS?

Thanks in advance!

parallel plate waveguide, hfss

Why are you trying to obtain the light line using HFSS? It is just a simple calculation...if you really want to do this in HFSS just simulate a parallel plate waveguide that is air-filled.

Re: Simulating pec in HFSS

Thank you! savedadogs,

I am simulating pec is just to see if my settings will give reasonable results or not. I am not quite familiar with HFSS yet so I don't understand why a parallel plate will give the same results as pec or just air. Could you please explain it?

Thanks a lot!
