vivaldi .hfss

any doubts regarding the simulation of antenna designs in HFSS9.0 ...??
u can post ur doubts here

quad ridged horn simulation + czech

hi... i worked in ansoft HFSS 9.0 and agilent HFSS 5.5......if u have any doubts u can post here....

i want to simulate a rectangular Patch antenna , wat is the steps for doing that ;in details plz.

sir

i have the following doubt in ansoft hfss

i am designing a antenna (circular waveguide slot antenna 1.8Ghz )

i am not able to make a probe feed

if you want i can send you the .hfss file which i have made

i want to simulate vivaldi antenna ,how to set the port and boundary?

hi vijay,
for circular WG slots, try to extend the probe a little bit so tht when u apply the feed to tht face ,u wont face any prob..
the extension of the probe to be done based on the dimensionsof the circular WG.
for info u read extended probes in the articles..

thnk u.

hi mamsamae
a rectangular patch antenna is so simple in the hfss...

just try to refer some papers in www.ansoft.com or

go thro the tutorials in tht..

thnk u..

thanks your will be usefull

i dont have the artical on the extended is it in the hfss book

or some website

hi vijay...
try microwave filters...(...........) by Mathhaei...
u can see the diff ways of feeding also checkout MW hand book by IJ BAHL, etc...

Added after 18 minutes:

vijay.. if u have access to ieeexplore.ieee.org.. just checkout the examples.. excellent papers r provided in the site...

hfss version demo is available at ansoft.com.. u can get it

i am a beginner to HFSS....
I need to design dipole constituted phased array...
I have modeled a dipole...got results...
now i want to make array of 2 dipoles...

what steps should i take...
I dont know about U&V vectors.....cell placements....etc...
plz guide me in detail...

thx 4 the offer....
waiting for your relpy

plz reply krishna 410

If u have some pdf stuff on Dipole Array simulation in HFSS
it will be much better if u upload it over here...
or mail at
aliimransandhu@hotmail.com

best regards

hi..
sorry.. i dont have any pdf files relating dipole array.. but i remember a tutorial filr for arrays in ansoft.com .

u can logon into site and hav a look at it once.

thank u

hi,

i'm designing a cassegrain reflector antenna , initially i like to design the feed horn and the shaped subreflector in HFSS, but i don't know how to build the shaped reflector which is not exactly a hypeboliod but is a special shape defined by a equation.
so if anybody know the procedure to make it , kindly share it on this forum

with regards
abhi

U can go for HFSS designer. in which u can have a simple structure design of reflector antenna.......

try to adjust the parameters before u work in HFSS.

i would be thankfull to see this link about designing simple dipole antenna :

HFSS is very slow to simulate relatively complex antennas

only EM software provides you accurate results.
if you feel this is slow...then try out for Microstripes

hello sir;
I am dealing with hfssv9 i have some miss understand about models excitations using wave port , lumped port .... etc, i need some explanations about who those ports excite the models and what is the best choice of each model, also i want to design quad-ridged horn antenna for 10GH ,if u can post any data about this problems????
thank.
