Hello everybody,
I am starting on a project which includes interfacing of microcontroller with lancard. I have to select the microcontroller for that purpose. If you have any idea regarding this, Plz suggest me a microcontroller. And if anybody has any information about Interfacing NIC rtl8139 with 51 mic. Then plz share that me.

regards

I made a similar project. I chosen a PIC16F877 and a RTL8019AS chip. It works very fine. Pay attention for wiring... I had a lot of problems with wiring and I was nearly to abort the project developpment . I think the RTL8139 is more difficult to work with and require more processor pins to dedicate for it. I consider that 10mbps offered by RTL8019AS is more than enough for an embedded design, what is the reason you want 100mbps ????

generaly it easier to interface old ISA nics, i have never seen pci card interfaced.
