How to programme a LCD?

I'm working on a project which requires LCD display. I had great difficulties in configurating it. Wondering if there is anyone to help me? I will be using VHDL -CPLD to programme it.
The datasheet of the LCD is as per attached.

How to programme a LCD?

Are you sure your LCD and CPLD have same VCC?
ie 3.3V or 5V

Can you please more specific with the problem?

Re: How to programme a LCD?

Thanks for the reply. :)
Both CPLD and LCD needs 5V (VCC).
I'm working on a project - Heating Pad. I need to display inputs like 'Temperature', 'Time'. Therefore, it needs to be connected to the LCD.
Just for your infor, the CPLD chip that we will using - XC9572.

Datasheet for the CPLD is as per attached.
