req: what should a fabrication engineer should possess?

as an production engineer in fabrication's company, what the characteristics that the engineer should have?
fo example: they must have the basics of fabrication, VLSI.....and what else?
By the way can someone recommend me some ebooks/books related to fabrication.

i already get the answer, basically the knowledge of solid state physics
