Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I have some knowledge of electronics, but only the basics, so please be patient with me.

I was just given an Xytronic 168 3c soldering station--been using a 30w soldering iron for years.
It is 60W auto temp controlled, with an anolog meter.
It heats up quickly, but as soon as it reaches set temp the meter instantly "pegs" all the way over to the red zone. This happens at what ever temp it is set at(300F,400F,600F,etc).
I would really like to get this station working. Any suggestions what to start looking at?

Thanks
nek

check the potentiometer first, if there is no prioblem check the heat insulation of the sensor and at last change the sensor
