ANTENNA

IS THE ANTENNA ON A BASE TRANSCEIVER STATION A DIRECTIONAL OR OMNI-DIRECTIONAL?

Re: ANTENNA

Theoretically should be omni-directional.
Practical, due to network planning, the BS antennas are partially-directional.

It depends on the use..... Usually, base stations want to communicate with mobiles geographically dispersed and a omnidirectional antenna is mandatory, but sometimes will be enough to reach a repeater, in wich case a directional antenna could do better.
