costas loop filters
I am need of designing a loop filter for costas loop.
I was said that loop filter is nothing but iir filter of order 2.
For example costas loop to track 25khz carrier frequency with .02% crystal oscillator deviation.
In this example a 6 bit nco is used.
After lpf section on both arms and phase detection we get a vector 16 bits
NCO uses a accumulator of 24 bits.
Thus a coefficient of 6 bits may be the need.
This is one example of specfication.
Anybody having experience in designing this kind of loop filter could please try to help me by atleast suggesting the various ways of step by step simulation in matlab to achieve the filter coefficients.
If possible books or material dealing this part could of immense help.
