ubuntu agilent ads

Hello.

As you know, Agilent ADS supports RH7.2,7.3,8 officially.

However, you can run ADS with almost no problem on Ubuntu 5.10(Breezy Badger, isn't it?) by simply adding "XKEYSYMDB=/usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB" to your rc file.

If you are using bash(I prefer bash), just add the line "export XKEYSYMDB=/usr/share/X11/XKeysymDB" to .bashrc file at your home directory.

I have no problem with ADS on my Ubuntu 5.10 machine except some hotkey and printing problems.

when I try to open a new project I get this error

which library did you install to make ads to work?

thanks in advance

In my case, no extra library is required. What I have installed are just some shells like pdksh and csh.

You are right

If I run it as root I have no problems

I've to check the installation folder permissions

thanks for your prompt reply

Just another question...

do you run ads as root or limited user?

Just as limited user.
Because I am not the only person who use this machine.
