phase noise spectre

i have designed a VCO of ring oscillator type, but don't know how to calculate phase noise in spectre tool.
thnx in advance.

spectre phase noise

Run PSS and Pnoise analysis.
PSS is periodic staedy state. It calculates VCO operating frequency in steady state and Pnoise calculate the phase noise for the defined frequency range.

calculate phase noise

yes, you can run pss and pnoise.
more example you can find the openbook of cadence: Spectrerf

ring oscillator phase noise spectre

Yeap run a PSS+Pnoise simulation, you must run the PSS together with Pnoise and set the guessed foundamental frequency of your oscillator, set the harmonic to 7 or higher, set the initial time to 100ns or higher.

how to calculate the phase noise from frequency

Hello,

Here i uploaded file .how to perform PSS and Phase noise anlysis.follow those steps

in harmonic balance you can apply noisespect to calculate phase noise.

Re: how to calculate the phase noise from frequency

can u please upload the file to perform pss and phase noise analysis in cadence

thanks in advance
