well , i wanna build an IR interface to use with gsm phones ( nokia 6600 for example ) .
i don't wanna buy an ir module and i know they r cheap .
i wanna build it myself so please help me . i need schematics or anything about it

For transmit no schematic is need, just use a current limiting transistor directly to an IR LED on the TX pin of the serial port of the device you're trying to transmit from. For a 20ma LED I think 600ohms will about do it. Receive is a little harder. You need to connect the IR detector diode to an amplifier and have it level converted to RS232 levels. That I can't help you with.
