Can you folks share your feeling on these three tools in package SI, on-chip element modeling, PCB SI?

We just count performance as accuracy, speed.

You forgot Ansoft SIwave :)

It is very fast and highly accurate .

Hi all,

I think Optimal PakSi-E is the widely used EM solver for package SI analysis.

Hi, Mike: IE3D should be very good for SI applications. There are quite some users using it for such a purpose. In the IE3D 11.06, we have released the IE3D Automatic GDSII to IE3D Flow (AGIF) in late April. It allows a user to create a model or even perform a simulation directly from an IC and PCB stack up. It can even build wirebonds and solder balls automatically. The procedure can be stored in a template file for repeated use of the same type of layered structures in GDSII files. Also, we have implemented the Cadence Allegro to IE3D Flow which allows users to select some critical nets and create the IE3D model ready for simulation direclty. I expect the Cadence Allegro to IE3D Flow will be ready for beta test in about 2 weeks. Simultaneously, the Cadence Virtuoso to IE3D Link should be ready for beta test in the same time. Interested IE3D users can contact Zeland at: support@zeland.com.

HFSS would be the right choice along with SIwave
