I'm looking for voltage sensor which can measure both AC and DC.
The range of measurement is 1V-240V. And the output of this sensor will be supplied to A/D of MCU.

Could you please advise, are there any IC or circuit can support this kind of measurement?

Hi,

a lot of specifiactions missing.
And only with these specifications one can choose the correct solution.
There are so many possible solutions one can not start with "guessing".

Similar threads coming up very frequently. --> look at the "similar threads" box below.

Also do a forum search about AC measurement.

Those questions are repeated in many other discussions:
* do you need true isolation?
* or is a GND_referred measurement possible
* or is a differential input, high impedance measurement possible

What is your input signal?
* is the 240V ac value: RMS or peak - or peak-to-peak or any other?
* what waveform
* what frequency range (including overtones, if you want to include them in the measurement result)

For many solutions I assume a "high input impedance, differential input measurement" is adequate.

2 x Resistive voltage divider (safety!! rated for at least 1000V AC continous, 5000V for 1s, limt current to less than 0.5mA worst case)
2 x capacitors to GND to suppress fast voltage change referred to GND
1 x instrumentation amplifier
1 x low pass filter, anti aliasing filter
1 x ADC

Yes, I need Isolation.
Load power can be AC and DC. So the frequency can be 0-60Hz

Cause of true isolation of the analog signal is difficult. That why I'm asking for IC chip.

Is there an IC that can support this kind of measurement?

Hi,

I don´t know any suitable IC solution.
If there is an IC solution you surely may have found it reading through the existing threads. T

You may look at AD202. Mind that they are called "low cost". Check availability.

Thank you so much KlausST.

Seem like this IC will work for me.
