how to find the poles and zeros if the roll off is less than 20db/dec?
i know if it is 40db/dec there are two poles or zeros but i have no clue for 10db/dec. is it going to be half? but how?

Re: how to calculate poles and zeros if the slope is less than 20db/dec?

I guess it's a theoretical question with no reference to a real circuit.

There's no elementary circuit with 10 dB/decade slope. A respective frequency characteristic can be only approximated by a combination of multiple poles and zeros.

yes it is a theoretical subject and is give by my instructor. i have no clue ho to solve it :s

i have no clue for 10db/dec.

Perhaps the y-axis means power, not voltage?

I did not read this, it was just a quick search.

i also thought. but no this aint power

As, said the -10 dB/decade can be only implemented as an approximation, usually with equal ripple error. A typical example is a pink noise filter, implemented as a R-RC ladder circuit. See as example **broken link removed**

For an actual design, specify ripple and frequency range.

Hi,
There is change of +10 dB/decade to -10 dB/decade. so total change is -20 db per decade.
So, there will be one pole .

-40dB/decade has two poles.
+40dB/decade has two zeros.

For less than 20dB/decade, there would be constant term(not sure).

Thanks
