Dear all

Right now i am making inductive proximity detector.

I am using old tank capacitor 1nF 1206 (White color) i got it from old working proximity detector.

But when i place new capacitor with same value and voltage (Yellow color) in circuit it stopped working.

Can anyone help me with it ? What might be wrong with circuit ? If i again place old sample capacitor circuit start working again.

Regards

HI

One more question

Which type of capacitor to be used with proximity tank circuit? Ceramic type or Film type? I doubt about ceramic as they are not performing properly . Please guide me in this

Regards

You Can Read to get to Know Parameters associated with Capacitors:
+ **broken link removed**
+ Section 4: Technical Summary and Application Guidelines -AVX
+ GRM219R61H105KA73D - Murata Capacitor Characteristics
apart from Wikipedia about Ceramic Capacitors.

Ceramic Capacitor--{X5R,X7R} Capacitance Value Changes with
+ Applied Voltage e.g: upto 80% drop at Rated Voltage
+ Temperature Variation .
+ Time.
+ etc ...

If Your Get Parameters Right Ceramic Capacitors Will Work:).

Hi thanks for information.
A capacitor I am using is ceramic with dielectric NP0 which is most stable as per I know. Tolerance is 5% as of now.

Looking forward from all you guys.
