Hi,

I want to fit seal ring in my design in cadence virtuoso but after trying much I can't change the size of it.
"s" key or stretch doesn't work for seal ring. can anyone help me?

thank you

Re: seal ring stretch help

Most likely the seal ring is a PCell and the dimensions
should be found as properties on the placed instance.

Re: seal ring stretch help

thank you for answer dick_freebird.

Actually I have checked properties and by changing dimensions the seal ring's position just shifts up/down or right/left.
this is shot of properties:

really get confused! what should I do?

Re: seal ring stretch help

Try the "Property" radio button and see if you have a X
and Y dimension there.

there is nothing in property

and I can't change value in ROD

so, is there any other way? :(

You should normally able to stretch the Seal Ring by taking mid-line of the structure.have you ever tried to change System handle ?I believe there will be absolute coordinates of the Seal Ring then you can modify them.

I guess at this point I'd flatten it to zero levels and "Make Cell"
my own seal ring cell in the design library, place it and edit-
in-place so it fits right. Be sure to have all layers visible and
selectable so you don't end up with "invisible" stuff left at
unexpected places.

However this could turn into extra work if (say) the contact
cut is composed of a zillion standard contact squares rather
than a linear full extent cut. But it's manageable. I've done this
recently on a technology that (for my tools set) doesn't have
a scribe / seal PCell.

I'd see what messing with the centerline coords does for you,
first.

yes, you are right. there are coordinates but I can't change the value.

my problem solved with your solution

I can edit library cell of seal ring and make cell for my own seal ring

thank you :)
